Our national partner, lia sophia, made Christmas special for a number of our clients this year. A generous donation of jewelry was received and share with our ladies in time for the holidays.

A special thank you to Mark Steber and Sheila Cort of Jackson Hewitt who presented to our Dress for Success Professional Women's Group in Raleigh this month. The women enjoyed this timely presentation and gained many tips that can help them maximize their tax savings. WIT clothing drive serves Disadvantaged Women
Women In Technology (WIT) is a group of Time Warner Cable women who want to make a difference. Recently the group set out to empty their closets for a "Dress for Success'” clothing drive. Employees from all around the Carolinas participated and as a result, more than 2.300 items were donated.

Co-chair of the Women In Technology Network, Margie Fry, was amazed at the response. "Time Warner Cable employees are known to rally around a cause and this donation drive is a perfect example of that. Every piece of clothing will help someone in need."

Thanks to all the WIT participants from Raleigh, Wilmington, Charlotte, Greensboro, Jacksonville/Newport, Fayetteville and those in South Carolina who made the drive such a success.

Name:  Joyce Rothchild
Location:
Raleigh Manager – active for 4 years through Soroptimist
Fun fact:
Joyce is a member of the Rockette style dancers known as the Sassy Classics.  They’re 62 to 81 years young and  a sight to behold in sequins, feathers and fishnet stockings.

Favorite part of job:     I love the time I spend at the Boutique and the other volunteers I get to meet and work with.  They are a terrific, dedicated and hard working group doing whatever needs to be done.

Best advice: The Boutique is totally client driven – it’s not about the volunteers, but the needs of the women we dress, coach, mentor and befriend.

What this work  means to me: Volunteering at the Boutique gives me the opportunity to work directly with the clients.  It’s an incredible feeling to watch a woman grow in esteem and stature as she views herself in the mirror for the first time dressed and ready for her interview with increased confidence.
